The definition of acute bronchitis

The definition of acute bronchitis
Acute bronchitis is a temporary inflammation of the mucous of membranes of tracheobronchi, or trachea and Bronchus, which is usually associated with viral infections of the upper respiratory system. Disease is, therefore, mainly caused by respiratory viruses, so the inflammation is not of bacterial nature. More often it appears in winter months and small children are effected the most. Illness is of short duration and rarely complicated. Treatment with antibiotics is not necessary, although it is often implemented.
